The new season will further strengthen the global agreement between Moeve, LALIGA and Liga F, under which the energy company has become the first sponsor of all their competitions: LALIGA EA SPORTS, LALIGA HYPERMOTION, Liga F Moeve, LALIGA GENUINE Moeve, FC FUTURES and Liga Futura Moeve. Under the slogan, “The world is our playing field; the future is better when we all play,” the three organizations continue to champion positive values in sport and society, including teamwork, inclusion, the drive to excel and diversity.
“We are proud to begin this second season alongside LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION, which allows us to continue sharing our commitment to the energy transition and sustainable mobility with millions of fans. Our first year as sponsor of all the competitions, including LALIGA GENUINE Moeve and the FC FUTURES tournaments, has confirmed the power of sport to help achieve shared goals and demonstrated that, when we join forces, we can move forward together toward a better future.”

A record-breaking season for Spanish professional football
The new season begins after a historic campaign for Spanish professional football. LALIGA’s normalized revenue reached 5.5 billion euros, up 8.1% on the previous financial year, surpassing 5 billion euros for the second consecutive year. In addition, LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION stadiums welcomed a combined total of 17,535,164 fans—the highest figure on record. The top division surpassed 11.6 million attendees for the first time, reaching an occupancy rate of 84.9%, while LALIGA HYPERMOTION drew 5.8 million people and recorded an occupancy rate of 66.6%.
The high standard of Spain’s domestic club competitions was also evident at the most recent 2026 FIFA World Cup. The two finalists, Spain and Argentina, had 52 players called up, nearly half of whom—24 players—had competed in LALIGA EA SPORTS the previous season. In addition, as many as five LALIGA HYPERMOTION players also competed in the tournament for participating national teams.
The 2026/27 season will be available to follow in Spain through the competitions’ official broadcast partners, as well as on social media and digital platforms. LALIGA EA SPORTS will comprise 38 matchdays, including two midweek rounds, three FIFA international breaks and a Christmas break, concluding on May 30, 2027. The three newly promoted teams are Real Racing Club, RC Deportivo and Málaga CF. Racing returns to the division after 14 seasons, while Deportivo and Málaga return after eight seasons each.
LALIGA HYPERMOTION’s regular season will comprise 42 matchdays and conclude on June 6, ahead of the promotion playoffs, which will take place from June 9 to 20. The three teams competing this season following relegation are Real Oviedo, Girona FC and RCD Mallorca. The four newly promoted teams are CD Tenerife, CD Eldense, CE Sabadell and RC Celta Fortuna, the latter returning to the division after 35 seasons.
