- Moeve light Up, the energy company's open innovation program, includes an accelerator for startups that analyzed over 500 projects during its first call
Moeve celebrated the Demo Day for the first edition of its startup accelerator at the company’s corporate headquarters in Madrid. During the event, ten emerging companies presented the results of the pilot projects they developed with Moeve over the course of nearly a year to professionals from the energy company and members of the innovation ecosystem.
The startups will continue developing based on the maturity of their solutions. Those with greater implementation potential will advance to the next phase with Moeve's business and corporate area, while projects requiring further technological development will continue to mature with the Innovation team's support.
“Innovation lies at the core of Moeve and our Positive Motion strategy. We believe that the major challenges of the energy transition require boldness, collaboration, and the willingness to explore new paths. Partnering with startups to innovate helps us transform our activity and get closer to our customers. It allows us to better understand their needs and develop solutions that generate real impact for them and society.”
Maarten Wetselaar, CEO of Moeve.

These are the startups that presented their projects during Demo Day:
- CicerAI: application of artificial intelligence (AI) to contractual review and legal knowledge management, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and access to information.
- Emissium: technology for carbon emissions reporting and electric market forecasts using advanced regional data, providing greater analytical capacity and decision-making support.
- Kanara: lipid production technology using vegetable cell crops for second-generation biofuels and sustainable chemistry applications.
- Nium: green ammonia production technology using nano-catalysts, which allows for operation under more efficient conditions.
- Phycobloom: technology for the production of genetically modified algae as a raw material for second-generation biofuels and sustainable chemicals.
- Sensei: a smart and autonomous store model to improve the customer experience at our service stations.
- Solaris Vita: a system that integrates semi-transparent organic photovoltaic panels into real agricultural environments, combining renewable energy generation and agricultural activity.
- Visualfy: system of visual and digital alerts to improve the accessibility, inclusion, and safety of people with hearing impairments in our work environments..
- Water Challenge: solution for the treatment and recovery of industrial wastewater that contributes to optimizing water resource management.
- Woza Labs: a geo-localized platform for the smart management of information on renewable raw materials and sustainable fuels, facilitating faster and more informed decision making.
The first Moeve light up Call received more than 500 applications in the March 2025 Open Call. After the Selection day, when the various Moeve teams chose the most promising projects aligned with the challenges the company faces, the ten selected startups developed pilot projects throughout the last year and a half to validate their technologies in real environments. Due to the interest generated in the innovation ecosystem and the success of the pilot projects, the energy company is already working on designing the second edition.
