- The energy company will support the University of Seville's racing team for two seasons, promoting knowledge and research in alternative fuels
- ARUS, in collaboration with Moeve, will take the leap in the next season with a new single-seater powered by green hydrogen, becoming the first Spanish team in the category
During a presentation event in Seville, Moeve and the ARUS Andalucía Racing Team unveiled their collaboration agreement for two Formula Student seasons. The agreement establishes the energy company as a key sponsor of the team and will be featured on their single-seater, while also promoting talent and research in alternative automotive fuels in a region that has been associated with Moeve for over 60 years.
The event was attended by Antonio Joyanes, Executive Vice President of Energy Parks, and institutional representatives from the Junta de Andalucía: María del Carmen Castillo (Acting Minister of Educational Development and Vocational Training), Lorena Garrido (Acting Deputy Minister of University, Research, and Innovation), Cristóbal Sánchez (Acting Deputy Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mines), and Daniel Escacena (Acting Secretary General of Research and Innovation of the Ministry of University, Research, and Innovation). Also present were Álvaro Jesús Pimentel, Second Deputy Mayor of the Seville City Council, and Gonzalo Domínguez, Head of the Area of Supramunicipal Public Services of the Seville Provincial Council.
By signing the agreement, Moeve will be present in ARUS's new electric car for the season, which was unveiled at the same event in Seville. The energy company will also contribute its experience and technical knowledge to further expand its potential in this area. Throughout the next season, ARUS plans to pilot a new vehicle powered by green hydrogen in collaboration with Moeve. This would make ARUS the first Spanish team to compete in the category.

For the director of the Higher Technical School of Engineering at the University of Seville, Andrés Sáez, this agreement represents "a strategic step to continue strengthening the connection between excellence training, applied research and the major technological challenges of sustainable mobility." Sáez highlighted that “the collaboration between Moeve and ARUS will allow students to work in real innovation environments and incorporate cutting-edge electrification and renewable hydrogen technologies.” He also emphasized that “the team's evolution towards a single-seater powered by hydrogen represents a technological challenge of enormous training and scientific value, aligned with the lines of work that ETSi has been carrying out together with Moeve.”
Moeve and the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSi) at the University of Seville have maintained a relationship for over 15 years through the Moeve Chair. Together, they have developed training, research, and collaborative activities, promoting projects related to the energy transition and new energy sources, such as hydrogen and biofuels, while also promoting practices, scholarships, and end-of-study projects.
ARUS is an innovative Formula Student team that began competing nearly 15 years ago. One of its most important milestones was reached in 2018 with the launch of its first electric single-seater. In addition to competing in the electric category, the team joined the driverless vehicle category two years ago, introducing the first autonomous car in Andalusia. The next goal is to create a vehicle powered by green hydrogen.
With more than 1,400 universities participating from over 80 different countries, Formula Student is the most important motorsport competition in the academic field. The Formula Student World Ranking currently includes 29 events, with one in Barcelona (Spain), and another in Lisbon (Portugal). There are four categories: combustion vehicles, electric vehicles, driverless vehicles, and, starting in 2025, hydrogen-powered vehicles.
