BIR EL MSANA Project
In July 2015 we started up a new oilfield in Algeria, one of the most important milestones for the year for our Exploration and Production area.
How did we do it?
We led the development of the installations at Bir el Msana (BMS) in collaboration with Sonatrach and Petronas. The field is located in the Berkine basin, to the north-east of the Algerian desert, and consists of 3 productions wells, 3 water injection wells, and a gas storage well. We have also recently obtained the Carbon Footprint certification, which assures our work in controlling CO2 emissions.
The result
We have strengthened our presence in Algeria, where we have worked in the exploration and production of oil and gas for over 30 years. We are one of the leading companies in the country thanks to our crude oilfields in the Berkine basin (Rhourde er Rouni, Ourhoud, Rhourde el Krouf), and our gas field at Timimoun.
