Moeve, an international energy company, and Skytanking Holding GmbH, a leading global aviation fueling services provider, today announced the completion of a strategic transaction in Spain's airport refueling sector. Under the agreement, Skytanking has acquired a 50% stake in Spanish Intoplane Services, S.L. (SIS), previously a fully owned subsidiary of Moeve, to establish a 50/50 joint venture between Moeve and Skytanking.
The partnership combines Moeve's extensive experience in the aviation fuel market with Skytanking's international operational expertise, strengthening the offering for aircraft refueling services in Spain. Skytanking, part of PrimeFlight Aviation Services, is one of the world's leading aviation fueling specialists, operating at more than 140 airports across 17 countries.
Under the new ownership structure, SIS -- specialized in Into-Plane (ITP) services, the direct refueling of aircraft– will continue to operate as the platform through which the partners will pursue growth opportunities in airport fueling services across Mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands.
“This joint venture represents an important step in strengthening our position in aviation and ensuring the long-term growth of our Into-Plane business. By combining Moeve's market knowledge and customer relationships with Skytanking's global expertise in aircraft refueling operations, we are creating a platform that is better positioned to compete, grow and serve our customers across the region.”
Carlos Barrasa, EVP of Commercial & Clean Energies at Moeve.
"This partnership brings together complementary strengths and a shared commitment to operational excellence. By combining SIS’s established presence in Spain with Skytanking’s global experience, we are well positioned to support customers and pursue sustainable growth in this important market," said Amir Ibrahim, SVP of Business Development for Skytanking. "Together, we will build on SIS's strong foundations and create new opportunities to deliver safe, efficient and reliable fueling services to airlines and airports."
SIS currently operates at the Madrid-Barajas Airport, while Skytanking provides service in Spain at the Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Málaga, Lérida and Valencia airports. This partnership will strengthen the company’s position in aviation fuel supply service (into-plane) tenders by Spanish airport operator Aena while supporting the wider adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) solutions throughout the network.
