- The energy company has opened a new car wash center at its flagship service station in Campo de las Naciones, featuring a tunnel that can wash up to half a million vehicles a year
- The facility has 1,000 m² of solar panels that cover nearly 40% of the area’s energy consumption, as well as a tank system that makes it possible to store and reuse up to 50 cubic meters of water — the equivalent of 200 car wash tunnel sessions or 1,000 washing cycles
Moeve’s customers can now enjoy its new car washing facility in Madrid, which is one of the largest in Spain with a total surface area of 2,000 m2. Located at its flagship service station in Campo de las Naciones, the new facility incorporates technical solutions to optimize energy management, water treatment, and vehicle flow, with the goal of simultaneously washing a high number of vehicles.
The centerpiece of the facility is a 43.5-meter-long car wash tunnel with a total enclosed length of 50 meters. It operates using a dual conveyor belt system and is capable of washing 110 vehicles per hour, which equates to an operational capacity of up to half a million cars per year. This means that the facility can comfortably handle periods of peak demand, which mainly occur on weekends. It also enables on-site payment by credit card and the Moeve gow and Moeve Pro loyalty programs.
The tunnel technology allows vehicles to move along a continuous conveyor belt throughout the entire process, without any anchors, jerking movements, or the need for specific positioning, which makes the service accessible to all types of drivers and vehicles up to a height of 2.40 meters. The wash route features 24 wash arches and a specialized system designed to remove debris and build-up from the underside vehicles. The car wash area is rounded out by 15 individual boxes — one of which has special access for people with limited mobility — that use biodegradable detergents for a more sustainable experience.
The facility is equipped with 1,000 m2 of solar panels that cover nearly 40% of its total energy consumption, equivalent to the daily electricity consumption of about 20 households. As for water use, the facility has treatment and reuse tanks with a total capacity of 50 cubic meters, enough for 200 car wash sessions or 1,000 washing cycles.
"From the very beginning, this facility was designed with the goal of providing our customers with the best service in the shortest time possible. Every last detail is designed to make the car wash quick, convenient, flexible, and of the highest quality, in line with the real needs of today’s world. Furthermore, as always, Moeve has incorporated technologies that reduce energy consumption and promote water reuse to boost sustainability."
Sergio Ortega Cid, Car Wash Manager at Moeve.

This new car wash area is located at the company’s flagship service station, a model facility that Moeve uses to implement new technologies across its network of more than 1,600 service stations throughout Spain and Portugal. It is located next to a major traffic artery, the M-40 beltway near the IFEMA exhibition center, a stretch of road traveled by a daily average of 127,900 vehicles, according to the latest data from the Spanish Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility.
At this 24-hour service station, customers have access to six 350 kW ultra-fast charging stations and a 300 m2 store offering food, hygiene, household cleaning, and self-care products, as well as a R’SPIRO corner serving a premium range of coffees and pastries, a food hall with a wide variety of culinary options, and a package delivery service. The station is fully digitized and equipped with sensors to provide a better customer experience.
