- After laying the foundation for its deep transformation strategy, the company is adapting its operating model to begin a new chapter focused on industrial execution and customer-focused leadership.
- The new organization will be driven by greater integration, with two new areas, Commercial and Operations, to be led respectively by José María Solana and Robin Mooldijk.
- The Executive Committee will be streamlined to eight members to increase focus and agility in decision-making, as well as to drive optimization across the entire value chain from a global perspective.
Moeve has redesigned its operating model and Executive Committee, leading to an increased alignment with the progress of its Positive Motion strategy, which is entering a new phase defined by the execution of its industrial projects, including the start of construction of Europe’s largest renewable hydrogen project, unveiled last week. This natural evolution of Moeve’s operating model will strengthen the integration of its activities, enabling greater agility in industrial execution and business management, while enhancing its commercial capabilities and placing customers at the center of the organization from a global perspective.
For this new phase, the company is establishing a streamlined Executive Committee of eight members to accelerate decision-making and optimize the entire value chain through more coordinated management of capabilities and resources. Two new areas will support this greater integration: Operations will be responsible for the safe, efficient and competitive operation of all industrial assets, as well as the execution of new projects. It will be led by Robin Mooldijk, who joins the company on October 1st from Shell. The Commercial business will oversee customer relationships, commercial activities, innovation, business strategy development and integrated value creation across B2B businesses. It will be led by José María Solana, currently CEO of Moeve’s Chemicals division. The Trading & Optimization business, led by Alice Acuña, connects and optimizes the company’s end-to-end value chains through the supply and trading of energy and chemical products, production planning and integrated logistics. Meanwhile, the Mobility business, focused on the service station network, continues to be led by Pierre-Yves Sachet.
“Moeve is evolving towards a more integrated model focused on innovation and customer needs, bringing together commercial activities, logistics, production and trading to deliver higher-value multi-energy solutions. This operational evolution reflects the progress of Moeve’s transformation strategy to become a European benchmark in the energy transition.”
Maarten Wetselaar, CEO of Moeve.
The Company is shifting from a model that allowed for significant autonomy to the different business areas to a more integrated operating model designed to execute, scale and maximize the value it delivers to the market, particularly in an environment marked by volatility and increasingly sophisticated and challenging global demand. The new structure will enable greater economies of scale and more agile coordination between industrial and commercial areas, while preserving the technical expertise, market proximity and entrepreneurial and innovative culture that have defined the company for nearly a century.
