Navarrevisca is a special place in the heart of Ávila's Sierra de Gredos mountains with strongly rooted yet forward-looking traditions. A village that cares for and feels proud of its roots but, at the same time, reinvents them.
With the help of Elsa, Guillermo, Fabio, and Leticia, we will discover some inspiring stories to show that a legacy, when cared for and shared, can always continue.
Elsa's story is about a life spent in the village dedicated to the ranch... and to everything else that comes up, because in a small town, relationships and needs multiply. She tells us this with the happy smile of someone who is exactly where they want to be.
Guillermo has combined entrepreneurship and tradition to rediscover his origins. A few years ago, he left Madrid and returned to Navarrevisca to take care of a goat farm whose owners were retiring.
At first glance, it might seem that there are fewer options for young people in a small village, but that is not the case. Navarrevisca has many sporting and cultural activities that attract an increasing number of people. More and more young people are moving here to the village in search of a slower pace of life, fresh air, and time with their parents or grandparents.
At 1,700 meters above sea level, Cerro de la Mesa, which was a grazing area for livestock, is home to a site that the inhabitants of Navarrevisca have been visiting since they were children. Now, archaeological research has led to the discovery of important architectural remains: funerary offerings, liturgical lamps, and forged pieces.
Navarrevisca shows us that legacy, tradition, and culture are not just memories; they are a driver of the future. Because when there is commitment and community, returning also means moving forward to build, naturally, what is yet to come.
The wisdom of our roots is immense. If this journey has inspired you, we invite you to discover the rest of the stories that make up "Legados con Futuro."
Each tradition is a universe of learning and connection with authenticity.
